Having conquered London’s West End, this highly acclaimed stage adaptation of the Oscar-winning movie comes to Wollongong. This Australian premiere production stars one of the country’s favourite actors, Alex Dimitriades. Rain Man is the heart-warming tale of two brothers who find themselves in each other.

Charlie Babbitt is in crisis. His business is about to go under, his girlfriend is going to leave him and his estranged father has died, leaving a $7 million fortune to an unknown beneficiary. Charlie’s journey to claim his inheritance leads him to Raymond, an autistic savant with an extraordinary gift for numbers, who happens to be his older brother. What begins as a kidnapping attempt leads Charlie and Raymond on a road trip of discovery into a world of love and understanding.

Winning 4 Oscars at the 1989 Academy Awards, this story is superbly brought to the stage in a theatrical experience not to be missed.

“… a neat adaptation of a Hollywood blockbuster… I defy anyone to sit through it without experiencing both sympathetic laughter and sentimental tears” - The Telegraph (UK)

"... Every gesture, every nuance, every vocal inflection inhabits the heart and mind of [Daniel Mitchell's] character [Raymond] - wilful, anxious, self-absorbed, entirely honest and without pretension. It is a must-see performance and production." Canberra Times
